News and information are two things that people sometimes over look. The importance to follow the news is sometimes mocked and disowned because some people believe that it is a waste of time. Personally, I never watch the news on television or read about anything in particular in the newspaper. Just like many young adults, for news and information, I rely mostly on social media sites. Social media sites like twitter, facebook, and instagram are quick and easy to access. On instagram you can see relevant pictures of different events going on around different areas. On twitter people often post, or “tweet”, the latest and previous events. Twitter and instagram are social media sites that are more regularly used by the younger generation. However facebook is a portion of both twitter and instagram. On facebook people post pictures, links, and comments about new and upcoming events. If I wanted to find information quick and easy I would go to facebook, because I would have the older and younger viewpoints. The information is valuable to me because I do not watch anything on television or read the paper.
The photo below is a screenshot I took from my facebook. It is giving information on the drone-racing league giving me an insight on the advancement of technology. The first hyperlink takes you to my twitter, and it takes you to a page called WIRED Science. This page gives you interesting facts on what’s going on in the scientific world. The last hyperlink takes you to my instagram page, where I post my previous events that I would like to share.
